Stop Smoking for good in Glasgow

Stop Smoking for GOOD!

Probably the most effective method of stopping smoking available!

If you don't really want to quit, please leave my site now. I only help those who REALLY want to be helped. This is not an insult, I just sincerely want to help those who are dedicated to their own health and well-being. I am sure you understand that the package offered is very powerful and comprehensive, and not to be wasted.

Why?

Because it combines some of the most effective methods that are used in complementary health:

1- Hypnosis

2- Motivational Behaviour change
(similar to Allan Carr method only based instead on more established life coaching and psychotherapy methods)

3 -Self-help methods
Including hypnosis tapes, hand-outs and recommended supplements

All of these methods are combined in order to effectively hit the smoking habit with a number of effective tools, all at once. Instead of using just one possible method, this is a "belt and braces" approach to give you the best possible chance of becoming and remaining a non-smoker. As an ex-smoker I truly HATE the habit and have dedicated much effort to creating a substantially improved version of methods available in the field before now.

Why use Hypnotherapy / Hypnosis?

Because the addiction to smoking is mainly psychological. After the first few days the physical addiction is over. After that time it is the mental addiction that triggers people into returning to the habit. And as you may know, most people return to the habit weeks or months later and can brave out those first couple of days.

Force of habit, conditioned response, emotional comfort (adult version of a baby's dummy), seeing others smoking, being in a position when you would smoke previously ....... these are all typical triggers for smoking again after trying to quit.

Also defeatism as an excuse! The quit smoker slips for one evening, probably after having had a drink. He/she has a few cigarettes and then the next morning carries on smoking because he/she "failed". This can be after years of abstinence! This is a typical use of defeatism as a justification for starting again!

Denial is another reason, again psychological. People are well educated in many of the risks of smoking, such as cancer, heart disease, bronchitis etc..... However they rarely really imagine what that could mean to THEM. They treat it as an academic exercise, not real life where it could be THEM returning home after a check-up and telling a loved one they have months to live! People like to treat it as a problem on paper, or something that happens to others .... it is NOT!

Hypnotherapy can tackle the conditioned response and help to program NEW responses, responses that do not involve tobacco. This tackles the habit HEAD-ON. Also with the defeatism, it is possible, gently of course, to use a little visualisation to imagine these issues PERSONALLY (although never going so far as to harm the client with the exercise). The reaction of "denial" too can be tackled with new "programming".

A good therapist will also go through all the risk factors, personal details, history and related data in an interview with the client, both to ensure safety to proceed, and to gain useful information to incorporate into the hypnotherapy session. They will also provide a booster tape, advice sheets and use more than just hypnosis to help you quit.

Hypnotherapy is usually very safe, but PLEASE make sure you go to a properly qualified therapist. He/she should be not only properly qualified and registered, but also able to use other related techniques as a back-up (as recommended by the Hypnotherapy Research society 2 years ago).
LATEST NEWS:
We support the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy.

The Provision in Scotland is in customised premises in Canton.

Paul Morgan-Ayres is subject to  professional codes of conduct and ethics and is professionally registered and qualified. For further qualifications and biography see HERE.

Denise Morgan-Ayres is subject to the professional code of conduct and ethics of the Professional Board of Hypnotherapy. She is a certified hypnotherapist with the Professional Board of Hypnotherapy, and has a Diploma in Hypnotherapy. For further qualifications and biography see HERE

Both therapists adhere to the occupational health standards for Hypnotherapy, and Paul Morgan-Ayres is an accredited Hypnotherapist supervisor and NVQ Assessor in the relevant industrial context.

There are a number of types of hypnotherapy available, again for a complete description see HERE

Some forms of hypnotherapy, such as past live regressions, hypno-analysis and trauma "runs" are not recorded since it is not therapeutic to repeat them. Most sessions however, such as the stop-smoking session, are recorded so the client can listen over and over again between sessions. This greatly increases the effectiveness of many hypnotic processes. There is no charge for this.

Are all hypnotherapists equally qualified?

Unfortunately the industry is self-regulating! Some therapists are hardly qualified at all! Some are qualified, but only in a narrow area, e.g. just in hypnotherapy (in contradiction to the good practice recommended by the Hypnotherapy Research Society). Some make wild claims! Some are Stage Hypnotist entertainers!

For a more comprehensive guide see HERE. In short though, look for:
Codes of Conduct and Ethics.
Qualifications or registrations of non-independent industry bodies (e.g. Royal Societies)
NVQ Qualifications.
Do they subscribe to the occupational standards for hypnotherapy?

Beware of:
Therapists trained only by distance learning (although in part is OK).
Entertainers dabbling in therapy
Foreign Degrees that are not ethically described!
