Psychotherapy, Counselling and Analysis

The first thing to point out is that there is no universally accepted definition of what these are. Indeed there is no agreement as to whether they constitute the same thing or different therapies. This is increased as a problem in definitions when you consider that most therapists use a number of different styles and modalities according to their own style and practice. This further confuses the issue and muddies any boundaries when looking for clear definitions.

This webpage is not meant to be a clinical set of definitions, rather a layperson's guide - therefore I have tried to keep it simple and avoid terminology which might "switch off" many readers. Experts then please forgive the lack of depth in the definitions given.

What is Wiccan/Pagan counselling?

This is a form of Pastoral counselling. In other words normal (secular) counselling methods are used, however in the context of faith. in this case that faith and belief system is Pagan, in particular Wiccan.

Therefore person centred counselling is generally combined with elements of the individual's pagan faith in order to create a holistic healing model. 

 

What is Spell Casting and Healing?

The spell casting used is generally based on wiccan principle although can be tailored to other pagan paths. 

The important thing to note is that all casting is positive casting. This is often known as "white" magic since you cast only for good, not for revenge or aggressive intervention.

Casting is often combined with crystal, colour ad Reiki principles to add power and depth. This is actually traditional in a sense, since the old "wise woman" or "witch" would have used a variety of herbs, spells, gemstones and healing methods.

NOTE: Counselling or psychotherapy is a complementary form of healing. It does not claim to "cure" an illness or injury. Instead it works holistically, boosting the body in its attempts to heal itself.

 

Denise is a well qualified therapist with an ASET Level 4 award in Professional Therapeutic Counselling, an ASET Level 4 Award in Clinical Nutrition, and a range of other diploma qualifications in related issues. 

Both practitioners adhere to NOS National Occupational Standards and are professionally registered and insured. Both are Fellows of the Society for Holistic Therapists and Coaches.

What if I want more traditional counselling or Healing?

Traditional Person Centred counselling and Reiki are both available, as are all of the above without the faith aspect for those who want them. All faiths are respected and religion or faith will never be forced on any client.

In particular nutritional counselling, eating disorder counselling and female issue counselling are provided.

Clinical psychotherapy and clinical counselling are also available from Paul Morgan-Ayres. Also Paul provided Multi-faith counselling for all faiths including Kaballah and Christian.

 

Denise is a diploma qualified Counsellor (including an ASET Level 4 accredited award in Professional Therapeutic Counselling), Hypnotherapist, Herbalist, Nutritional Consultant, Psychotherapist, Ayurveda Practitioner, Crystal Healer (incorporating dowsing, Kinesiology and colour therapy) and is Reiki attuned stage 2. She is a legally ordained Multifaith Minister and long term pagan herself. She has also successfully completed an independent diploma in Wiccan Education.
