Kinesiology The Use of Muscle Testing as an assessment tool. There are a number of variations, including applied, energy and specialised. We use energy and specialised. Kinesiology was developed when chiropractors notices that muscles have less or more tone depending on the positions held, or other points touched in the body. This corresponded to the meridian systems from traditional Chinese medicine. Responses in different muscles would show whether the associated meridian was strong or week. In Psychotherapy kinesiology has been developed as a way of determining the mental link between emotion and physical muscle tone. Te tone of a major muscle group is often effected by the emotion of the client. Thus mentioning a trigger word relating the to client, may provide a response in muscle tone, and thus provide information regarding trapped or repressed emotion. In crystal healing the testing is often used to provide a straight forward "yes" or "no". The body can be asked about methods of treatment on offer and can answer "yes" or "no" according to the muscular reaction. Thus the body can have input into which methods of healing, or types of crystal would be most effective to heal it. This ties in with the fact that the body is a self-healing organism and has a great deal of knowledge on how to heal itself. Before using kinesiology, the client is led through a series of grounding exercises to ensure that the information gained is not coloured by random or unimportant background stimuli. The body can thus be consulted as to its own healing needs on a range of issues: emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. NOTE: Kinesiology is a complementary form of healing. It does not claim to "cure" an illness or injury. Instead it works holistically, boosting the body in its attempts to heal itself. |
