Affirmations & Therapy

Get positive and help yourself with Affirmations and Hypnotic Boosting!

You can boost your own self development and Positivity with affirmations. Hypnosis can make affirmation more affective, whether hypnotherapy or self-hypnosis based. Affirmations can be used to boost you in any area of self-help or self-improvement, from accelerated learning to phobia challenging.

Self-Development and Affirmations:

Many people find that their progress in development is hindered, or finally falls apart, because they begin acting in a way that does not fit with the new "you" they are trying to create.

Sometimes this is because they do not have enough positive programming and boosting to help them to keep on track. Affirmations are an easy way to boost progress and maintain development.

Visualisation:

Positive visualisation using hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can assist you in working positively towards your goal, and is very effective when combined with affirmations.

Autogenics

Autogenics are close related to self hypnosis and are very self driven in style. They are easily taught by a professional hypnotherapist or life coach.

Therapeutical intervention:

Therapeutical intervention makes affirmations more likely to succeed than if used in isolation. It is best if the underlying reasons for issues are tackled with psychotherapy or other methods, and then affirmations, visualisations and other positive change techniques can be more effectively employed.

Basic example of Affirmations

This is a basic example only - and encourages positive self-talk. Although very effective, it is always best when combined with professional therapy.

1. Decide what your goal is.

2. Examine the outcome of your goal - imagine it - is it exactly what you want? Are there any "side effects". Resolve any problems and recreate. Get an image that is exactly what you wish to have.

3. List 4 statements about the image or situation. Put them in past tense and make them completely positive. eg. "I am thin and beautiful", not "I am going to stop being overweight and ugly". The statements must be present tense and they must be positive self-talk. Do not even mention the negative issue.

4. Write the 4 issues in RED ink on a piece of card. Write clearly in your own handwriting.

5. Read the 4 statements 3 to 4 times when sleepy and about to go to sleep at night, and the same when you first awaken in the morning. Afterwards spend a moment either as you fall asleep, or before you get up, visualising the image you perfected in stage 2.

6. During the day, whenever you have a moment without anything to do, either think about one or more of the statements and repeat it to yourself, or imagine the image. Obviously be careful not to lose concentration on anything important. You should not divert attention away from anything such as driving or operating machinery!

7. If you use self-hypnosis or meditation, try using the affirmations when relaxed. Use the visualisation too.
