Employee Assistance Programmes ContinuedAn EAP is designed to reduce stress and sick leave in a company by providing staff training, counselling and support. |

EAP Plan OptionsWith all arrangements it is absolutely the responsibility of the Employer to promote the EAP and to ensure appropriate confidentiality and lack of discrimination is maintained among its staff. Plan Option 1Employees book sessions at will with the EAP practitioner. The company will pay for an agreed maximum of sessions. Employee is identified only by payroll number The EAP practitioner invoices the Employer on a monthly basis itemising the number of sessions undertaken per employee payroll number. Because of the open ended nature of this arrangement, a retainer is payable to the EAP Practitioner which offsets any loss of earnings turning down other contracts and or private clients in order to service the EAP should demand be excessive. This payment also ensures some compensation should the practitioner be expected to service the EAP, but lack of Employer promotion means a failure by employees to use the service. With this option any Seminars and group sessions will be charged at the normal hourly rate by arrangement with the Employer. Plan Option 2The EAP Practitioner is retained to provide a standard number of days or hours per week to the scheme and is paid accordingly whatever the uptake. This naturally means a maximum limit on the number of employees who can be helped at any one time. Once agreed the Employer will reimburse the full rate for the agreed days on a monthly basis, whatever the uptake.
